Honors Admission Requirements
High School Applicants
High school seniors (incoming college freshmen) will be required to meet one of the
following three eligibility criteria in order to apply:
• A grade point average of 3.70 or above, or
• A score of 1200 or above on the SAT (math & verbal), or
• A composite score of 28 or above on the ACT
Currently enrolled SDSU Applicants
Current SDSU students must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average in order to apply.
applying from a community college or another university must have at
least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average in order to apply.
AP, IB, or Concurrent Enrollment Credit
of our incoming Honors freshmen arrive with college credit earned
through AP tests, concurrent enrollment credit, or an IB experience.
These credits may count toward some of your General Education
requirements; however, these credits cannot be used toward completion of the University Honors College requirements.
classes are not interchangeable with any coursework done in high
school; therefore, AP, IB, or community college credits do not waive any
of the Honors requirements.
