Dean HayhurstWelcome to the College of Engineering at San Diego State University, the fastest-growing of SDSU’s seven colleges and arguably the most exciting!

We educate a diverse group of students to become engineering innovators and key contributors to technical knowledge on a global scale. Thanks to our exceptional faculty, undergraduates and graduate students enjoy a stimulating learning community that is literally inventing the future.

Students and graduates appreciate our dedication to innovative education, ground-breaking research, and knowledge sharing. We especially focus on developing their capacity for critical thinking; enabling them to recognize human and societal needs; design novel, sustainable engineering solutions; create value through entrepreneurial efforts; and embrace an international perspective.

We’re serious about excellence in academics and engineering. As a result, our enrollment has exploded by 35 percent in the last five years, and support has increased from donors, research agencies and industry partners who work with us to create relevant, leading edge educational and professional opportunities.  Our faculty and student body reflect the rich diversity of our region. And we are recognized nationally for our efforts to welcome veterans.

San Diego is a thriving, internationally recognized center of leading-edge technology, and we are particularly proud of our relationships with many of these technology leaders.  Because of these relationships students find unparalleled opportunities for real-world experience before they hit the workforce.

Thank you for visiting our website to explore our accomplishments and what we might offer you. Come into the future with us.
