SDSU Harambee Weekend

San Diego State University believes that all students should make a well informed decision about where they will be pursuing their degree. Each year admitted African American and African Diaspora students along with their families are invited to visit our campus and participate in a series of culturally enriching and informative activies. Initiated by the Office of the President under the guidance of the Chief Diversity Officer, Harambee weekend provides student with an important glimpse into the culturally responsive and socially engaging support system students can engage throughtout their academic career.

Harambee Weekend Includes:

  • Meet and Greet with committed SDSU Faculty and Staff
  • Enriching discussions with African American Student Leaders and Organizations
  • Dinner and Student Entertainment
  • Culturally responsive Q & A session with university adminstrators and faculty
  • Overnight stay in the residence halls with SDSU Harambee Student Liasions
  • Breakfast with SDSU students and staff
  • Tour of campus and Explore SDSU
