Morales Wins With MLB

The crack of the bat hitting the ball is a familiar sound to SDSU Alum Peggy Morales. Peggy Morales smiles as a group of youngsters gather around her to watch a sunny baseball game in the Dominican Republic. Morales is the Coordinator for Community Affairs for Major League Baseball in the Dominican Republic.  As SDSU Sports MBA student she began as a six month internship in the Dominican Republic which upon completion, led to a full time position. She saw an opportunity to learn how the baseball industry functions and influences the culture of the Dominican Republic. Her position has created chances for her to lead in coordinating high profile events for the US Embassy, the Baseball Hall of Fame in the DR, Baseball Sustainability in the Dominican Republic, as well as important community development projects.
“What I enjoy most about my job is that it combines everything that I wanted to do. It combines sports, business, international relations, and community service.  I always wanted to give back, and this is a great way for me to do it”.
