# Dr. Asfaw Beyene and Dr. Walt Oechel received an award for the Interlinks of Energy, Water, and Climate Change, National Science Foundation, $100,000, 2009-2010.

Dr. Bhattacharjee was elevated to the rank of Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers for his research accomplishments including discovery of a new nondimensional number that is routinely used in convection textbooks, development of the first flame spread formula for the microgravity regime, and discovery of self-extinguishing flames in a quiescent microgravity environment.

Dr. Fletcher Miller was elected the Department's Most Influential Professor of 2009.

Dr. Kee Moon received the 2009 Northrop Grumman Excellence in Teaching Excellence.

Dr. Kee Moon received the 2009 Northrop Grumman Excellence in Teaching Award.

Dr. Kee Moon was recognized in Marquis Who's Who in America, 2009 edition.

Dr. Khaled Morsi chaired a Technical Session in Materials Science Conference in the 2009 TMS Annual Meeting & Exhibition conferences.

Dr. Khaled Morsi is the PI on a National Science Foundation award for $150K to generate an interactive game-based simulation lab software to enhance the accessability of Materials Laboratory experience for Engineering undergraduates, in collaboration with faculty in Computer Science, Digital Arts and Education Assessment at SDSU.

Dr. Khaled Morsi is a Co-PI on a National Science Foundation award for  $709k for acquisition of a field emission electron microscope.

Dr. Eugene Olevsky received the 2009-10 SDSU Alumni Association Outstanding Professor (Monty) Award.
