# Dr. Asfaw Beyene received the 2012-13 SDSU Alumni Association Outstanding Professor (Monty) Award.

Dr. Asfaw Beyene and ME graduate student Mike Soda received the 2012 Department of Energy Excellence in Applied Energy Engineering Research Award.

Dr. Samuel Kassegne was the lead author, and Dr. Kee Moon was the second author on a paper that was included in the Highlights: A compilation of the best papers published within the last two years in the Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering.

Dr. Kee Moon was introduced in the December 2012 issue of San Diego Korean Community Magazine, “People: Brain-controlled Bionics”.

Dr. Kee Moon was introduced in the Fall 2012 issue of SDSU 360 Magazine, “Innovation: Mind-Body Connection”.

Dr. Khaled Morsi is the lead organizor of a Symposium at the 2012 meeting of TMS entitled: R. M. German Honorary Symposium on Sintering and Powder-based Materials.

Dr. Eugene Olevsky was elected as an Honorary Member of the Ukraine Materials Science Society.
