SDSU President Sally Roush

Roush head shot 1.3Sally Roush, who began her term as San Diego State University president on July 1, 2017, is passionate about the university's continuing development as a major public research university. 

Roush -- the first woman to be named SDSU president -- has served the university for more than three decades, including 19 years as senior vice president for Business and Financial Affairs. She advised three previous SDSU presidents and co-chaired the steering committee that guided the university in developing its strategic plan, "Building on Excellence."

As senior vice president, Roush was the university's chief financial officer and oversaw the university budget, intercollegiate athletics, real estate development and capital planning, facilities, public safety, human resources and labor relations, legal affairs and information technology.

After her retirement from SDSU in 2013, Roush served as interim vice chancellor and chief financial officer for The California State University system.
