The Virtual Student Resources Center (vSRC)
A pilot virtual Student Resources Center (vSRC): The SDSU Portal to Student Success! An online component to the Division of Undergraduate Studies Student Learning Lounge launched in Fall 2008. This program provides a web portal to support students, provide helpful resources and a 24-hour "study space" like those available in the Learning Lounge.
Chicana and Chicano Studies Archive Project
An exhibit highlighting SDSU and the Chicano movement, Latino/a contributions to educational equity and opportunity in San Diego and beyond. In addition, a multimedia online exhibit was produced. The project culminated in a reception and celebration during the 2010 Hispanic Heritage Month.
NROTC USD/SDSU: Combat Leadership Panel
The capstone academic event of a senior-level course within the Dept. of Naval Science/Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC). The event benefitted future Naval, Marine Corps officers and other armed services receiving education at SDSU.
Career Services/Vet Success
An annual Veteran's Career/Resources Fair and ongoing evaluation system to ensure the needs of SDSU student veterans and active duty military are met. This project established an ongoing partnership between SDSU Career Services, the Veteran's Success Program, Troops to College and groups such as the SD Military Advisory Council
CAL India Summer Program
Scholarships to benefit students that attended the 2010 SDSU PSG India Summer Program. For more information, click here.
SDSU College of Sciences/YMCA Partnership
A new after school program at the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA in San Diego. SDSU students enrolled in a College of Science course entitled, "Learning Science and Mathematics in Informal Settings" and participated in this program with high school students. For more information, click here.
Molecular Modeling Field Trips
A pilot program to send a professor and SDSU students to chemistry classes at Helix High School, Southwest High School and Castle Park High School using laptops and GaussView to educate students about molecular visualization and modeling. For more information, click here.
Recycling in the Residence Halls
A single stream recycling system in the SDSU Residence Halls. Program includes recycle bags and tote containers for each floor of the communities. For more information, click here.
Common Chords
An annual workshop and concert on the SDSU campus featuring prominent Jewish and Muslim musicians from around the world.
SDSU Peer Counseling Project
Pilot Peer Counseling program for community college transfer students. Students of low-socio economic situations who are the first in their families to attend college will work with peer counselors twice a month. The project involves parents and 2 compact advisors at the community colleges.
Computational Software into Mathematics (SAGE)
SDSU's contribution to build curriculum for SAGE, an open source mathematics software program. Professionals in the field of mathematics use this kind of programming. Tools are being provided to allow teachers to incorporate SAGE into classrooms.
New Global Health JDP
A year-long pilot program to add support to the new Global Health JDP. The program will include an international field practice program for JDP students to support three-month field practica, develop an annual one-day global health research seminar and launch a strong fundraising campaign to support students in global health studies at undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels.
SCOPE (Sustainable Community Planning Education) Lab
The building of a sustainable community planning/education laboratory at SDSU -- in the Graduate Program in City Planning, School of Public Affairs. This project trains graduate students to carry out applied urban planning and design anaylses to assist in solving local planning problems in their communities along the US/Mexico border.
