April 7 Emergency Drill Planned

Buildings on the west side of campus will be evacuated and communication systems will be tested.

Each semester, the campus conducts an emergency drill on a date approved by the Senate.  This semester, an Evacuation Drill is planned from 9:45 a.m. until 10:15 a.m., on Thursday, April 7, on the west side of campus.

Buildings participating in the drill include:

  • Aztec Athletic Center
  • Peterson Gym
  • Public Safety
  • Aztec Aquaplex
  • Tony Gwynn Stadium
  • Tennis Center
  • SDSU Softball Stadium

The drill will begin with the building fire alarms activated, followed by tests of the SDSU Alert (text messaging) and Mass Notification (outdoor loud speaker) systems. Individuals interested in signing up to receive emergency text message notifications may still do so online.

All buildings occupants are required to participate. As a reminder, building occupants should evacuate using the nearest building exit and proceed to the designated assembly point. Building evacuation instructions and assembly points are posted in buildings and may also be reviewed online.
