Perette Godwin, SDSU alumnus and local reporter, hosts the newest episode of SDSU Insider.
Sure, San Diego State has a magazine, a website and an e-mail newsletter. But with so many stories to tell, the university felt like it needed more — and so SDSU Insider was born.
The 30-minute news magazine-style television show, which will air this month on The Mtn. and KPBS-TV, gives viewers an inside look at the people, programs and initiatives that make San Diego State a dynamic and engaged university.

This month, the program goes inside the newly renamed Donald P. Shiley BioScience Center to meet Ed Morgan, who is on the cusp of new vaccine technology that could change the face of preventative medicine. The show will also tell the story of students, faculty and staff who will benefit from The Campaign for SDSU.
“We wanted to reach out to the San Diego community and engage a wider audience of alumni and friends,” said Gina Jacobs, SDSU media relations manager and executive producer of the show.
Hosted by Fox 5 News reporter Perette Godwin (class of 1986), SDSU Insider will also feature interviews with SDSU’s new president Elliot Hirshman, Aztec Football Head Coach Rocky Long and quarterback Ryan Lindley.
The first episode of SDSU Insider aired in March and featured stories on student veterans and a day in the life of now-retired President Stephen Weber.
