With trucked-in snow, students slipped, slid and sledded down the grassy knoll overlooking the pond at Scripps Park.

The event was one of two Aztec Nights events the first weekend of the semester. The following evening, students enjoyed Madness on the Mesa following the men's basketball game.

Winter wonderland

In addition to the snow, Scripps Cottage was turned into a game room featuring both board and video games, like Jenga and Rock Band.

To get in the wintry spirit, students sipped on hot cocoa and toasted marshmallows in the outdoor fireplace for make-your-own s’mores.

Madness on the Mesa

The following night, Welcome Back Madness transformed Peterson Gym into a post-game hot spot. Hosted by SDSU sorority Alpha Phi, students were treated to performances by the K.O. Hip Hop Dance Team and men's basketball player Tim Shelton.

Tunes were provided by DJ Fingaz, while students enjoyed dancing, food and mocktails. The event also sported a photo booth, a mechanical bull and an Equinox laser battle, a mix of paintball and laser tag.
