The May 2 event features student and alumni performers and is free and open to the public.
The San Diego State University School of Music and Dance continues the celebration of its 75th Anniversary with two free performances of “Opera Arias” on Wednesday, May 2, at 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. in Smith Recital Hall. The noon program will be an operatic sampler of the full-length evening program.
About "Opera Arias"
Performed by SDSU’s Opera Theater, “Opera Arias” is a rich collection of the best-loved arias of all time, chosen especially for these performances by the SDSU voice faculty.
“Undergraduate and graduate voice students will be joined by a wealth of alumni singers,” said Kellie Evans-O’Connor, Director of Opera Theater. “You’ll hear selections from early opera to modern operas, all in their original languages. Everything from 'Orfeo' to 'Street Scene,' from Mozart to Mechem!”
Both the 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. concerts are free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted to support future SDSU Opera Theater productions.
