An event advocating stem cell science will begin at 11 a.m., Oct. 3, in the Fowler Athletics Center Auditorium.
The College of Sciences will sponsor Stem Cell Awareness Day, an event for students, faculty, staff and members of the community interested in learning more about stem cells.
The event will begin at 11 a.m., Oct. 3, in the Fowler Athletics Center Auditorium.
Scientists from SDSU, the Scripps Research Institute and ViaCyte, Inc. (a stem cell engineering company) will lecture about the importance of stem cell research.
They will discuss the basic science of stem cells, and emerging therapies to cure diseases.
They will also talk about the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine and a stem-cell research internship available to SDSU students.
