Vagina Monologues Support Women's Safety

The production will run at SDSU, Feb. 8-10, at the Don Powell Theatre.

V-Day SDSU, a non-profit organization aimed at stopping violence against women and girls, is putting on its annual production of The Vagina Monologues, an award winning play by Eve Ensler about stories of women all over the world.

“What I love about this show is that it is an immensely effective way to raise both awareness and funds to end violence against women and girls," producer Sharlene Castle stated. "While the show is fun and entertaining, it also drives home the fact that violence against women is a global epidemic and empowers both men and women to end it."

A good cause

All the proceeds from this event will be donated to violence prevention programs. The Center for Community Solutions will receive 90 percent of the donations to help children and adults prevent or heal from relationship and sexual violence.

The remaining 10 percent will be donated to the One Billion Rising Campaign, a world-wide strike to end violence that will take place on Feb. 14.
