Ben Liddi, an SDSU graduate with a degree in art, and an emphasis in painting and printmaking, won the t-shirt design contest held by Associated Students.

Liddi, '10, was inspired by The Show, SDSU's student section, which gains national attention for their game-day rituals.

"The Show's designs are very Aztec-inspired, and I wanted to capture that in my design," Liddi said.

As the contest winner, Liddi will receive a complimentary t-shirt and gym bag featuring his winning design and four tickets to the Homecoming football game on Oct. 26.

Homecoming t-shirts will be available at the SDSU Bookstore at the end of September.

"My favorite thing about being an Aztec is the community — the SDSU community is very involved and very passionate about the university," said Liddi, who has been an Aztec football and basketball season ticket holder for the last three years.

"It's nice to have a community that cares a lot about SDSU."

About Liddi

As a student, Liddi took graphic design courses to improve his skills. "Spending time painting allowed me to get really creative and my professors were more than accommodating when I did work that bridged the gap between painting and graphic design," Liddi said.

While at SDSU, Liddi was involved with the SDSU art department and enjoyed attending Aztec athletic events.

He currently works as a graphic designer for Savacool Secviar Brand Communications in Point Loma.
