Top Honor for SDSU Alumna

SDSU alumna Marion Ross received the Mortar Board Alumni Achievement Award.

Millions of fans know Marion Ross for her 11-year portrayal of "Mrs. C." on the hit show "Happy Days."

And at the Mortar Board National Conference in Atlanta this summer, she received the Mortar Board Alumni Achievement Award for her successful career as an actress and her lifelong devotion and support of Mortar Board.

Distinguished alumna

Ross attended San Diego State University and served as chancellor of her Mortar Board chapter in 1950.

In 2008 she was recognized by the San Diego Alumni Chapter with the Mortar Board Distinguished Alumna Award.

SDSU in the spotlight

Also at the conference, the SDSU chapter of Mortar Board received more awards than any other chapter, including 17 Project Excellence Awards and the Golden Torch Award for excellence in scholarship, leadership and service.

Several representatives of SDSU's Mortar Board attended the conference including president Megan Isaacson, past president Allison Pierce and advisers Kayleigh Neel and Jane K. Smith.
