Applications for fall 2015
Topics of Interest
Anticipating approval of a state budget that restores enrollment funding to the California State University (CSU) system, San Diego State University will accept applications for the spring 2011 semester for local community college upper-division transfer students only. Part of a system-wide initiative, the application period will begin August 1 and end at midnight, August 31, with actual admissions contingent on passage of a state budget that includes funding for enrollment growth. In May, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger proposed a budget that included an increase in state funding for the CSU of $305 million in restoration of base budget funds and $60.6 million in enrollment growth funding. The budget has not yet been approved by the state legislature.By receiving applications now, SDSU will be in position to begin the eligibility review and to receive transcripts as early as possible. This will allow SDSU to expedite the admissions process once a budget has been passed, should it include those restored funds. Applicants for the Spring 2011 semester who meet SDSU’s Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) requirements will be given first priority. Second admission priority will be given to upper-division applicants with 50 percent or more of their transfer work from SDSU’s local community colleges, completion of General Education and preparation for the major courses and the GPA for the major.Interested transfer students should visit SDSU’s Admissions website.
