This fall, several California ballot initiatives aim to bring financial relief to higher education, but the California State University system and San Diego State University are still preparing for another possible budget reduction.
San Diego State senior university administrators will give a 15-minute overview of the university’s proposed 2012-13 budget to students at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 3, in Arts and Letters, room 201.
Forum for discussion
Following the short overview, Associated Students executive officers will serve as moderators for a forum of discussion with senior university administrators until 3:30 p.m.
“This is a great opportunity for students to voice any questions or concerns they may have with how the recent budget cuts have affected our university and what they can expect in the future,” said Krista Parker, Associated Students vice president of external affairs.
While students will be able to ask questions during the event, they are also encouraged to email their questions to firstname.lastname@example.org
. Questions will be accepted until Friday, April 27.
Open to all
The May 3 event will focus on student issues as they relate to the budget. The Division of Business and Financial Affairs has held similar events with SDSU faculty and staff.
