Associated Students of SDSU registered a record 4,413 student voters as part of its Rock the Vote efforts in September and October, nearly 14 percent of the student body and the most of any California State University campus.

A.S. registered students in conjunction with Rock the Vote, the California State Student Association and the California Public Interest Resource Group, or CalPIRG.

Rock the Vote continues with several A.S.-planned events in the week leading up to Election Day. Events include:

  • Noon, Oct. 31, Hepner Hall: Student issues debate moderated by The Daily Aztec and the SDSU debate team, and featuring Aztecs for Obama and College Republicans.
  • Noon, Nov. 1, North Library Walkway: Student rally and information fair that will focus on propositions on the California ballot, budget cuts, the tax initiative and the importance of voting.
  • Noon, Nov. 5, North Library Walkway: Pre-Election Day celebration featuring several student performers.
  • 7 a.m. – 8 p.m., Nov. 6, PPG Alumni Center: Election Day poll site at the PPG Alumni Center.
