Bernadette Cherin passed away at the age of 64 on Dec. 11, 2012.
Cherin, a graduate of SDSU, devoted a 20-year career to the university. She handled payroll and faculty appointments within Business and Financial Affairs and Academic Affairs.
Cherin spent the past 40 years living in San Diego. During that time she indulged her love of the outdoors as an avid walker, cyclist and all-around exerciser. She loved animals, especially her border collie, Heidi.
“She loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor. But above all, Bernadette took great joy in caring for others and making others happy,” said a friend.
A caring wife and mother, Cherin is survived by her husband Tony Cherin, emeritus professor in the College of Business Administration; her daughter, Linda; her son, Douglas; brothers, David and Doug; sisters, Colleen, Kathy and Virginia; four granddaughters and a large extended family.
