About Cherin

Cherin spent the past 40 years living in San Diego.  During that time she indulged her love of the outdoors as an avid walker, cyclist and all-around exerciser. She loved animals, especially her border collie, Heidi.

“She loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor. But above all, Bernadette took great joy in caring for others and making others happy,” said a friend.

A caring wife and mother, Cherin is survived by her husband Tony Cherin, emeritus professor in the College of Business Administration; her daughter, Linda; her son, Douglas; brothers, David and Doug; sisters, Colleen, Kathy and Virginia; four granddaughters and a large extended family.

A memorial service celebrating Beradette’s life will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18 in the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center. The university community is invited to attend.
