Red, Black and Green All Over

GreenFest promotes sustainability and Aztec pride, March 19 - 21.

SDSU is going red, black and green all over, thanks to GreenFest 2013. The weeklong celebration of sustainability and Aztec pride returns March 18 - 21.

Associated Students has planned various events for the week, including:

Monday, March 18

  • 10 a.m., Bike Brunch (Sponsored by Kind Healthy Snacks), South End of Campanile Walkway: enjoy a free breakfast after taking an alternative mode of transit to campus
  • 3 p.m., Boat Challenge, Aztec Aquaplex: student teams will compete to see which boat made of recyclable materials can float the farthest

Tuesday, March 19

  • Noon, Sustain Your Roots Festival, Campanile Walkway: this afternoon event celebrates cultural awareness and sustainability
  • 1 p.m., Aztec Chef Competition, North End of Campanile Walkway: chefs with Aztec Shops will demonstrate their culinary prowess
  • 7 p.m., Fashion & Music Awards, ENS Field: student teams will show off green fashion and celebrate sustainability with music videos

Wednesday, March 20 

  • Noon, Green Lunch Bag Series, Scripps Cottage: this free vegan lunch will feature keynote speaker Leilani Münter
  • 4 p.m.,  Keynote Speaker (Sponsored by Car 2 Go) Leilani Münter, Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center: the world's No. 1 eco-athlete in the world and top 10 female race car driver will speak with students 

Thursday, March 21 

  • 10 a.m., SDSU Farmer’s Market, Campanile Walkway
  • 7 p.m., 2013 GreenFest Concert (Sponsored by Pura Vida Bracelets) featuring Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Open Air Theatre 

All events, with the exception of the GreenFest Concert, are free and open to the campus community.
Students interested in attending the GreenFest Concert can purchase a $10 single ticket (reserved seating only) with a Red ID at the Viejas Arena Ticket Office.
