The Office of Educational Opportunity and Ethnic Affairs at San Diego State University will host a graduation ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of the more than 150 graduating seniors it supports.
The program provides low income college students with comprehensive services to assist students in reaching academic success and graduation.
"The primary focus of our program is retention — we want to ensure these students stay in school," said Rodrigo Gutierrez, outreach and recruitment officer for the Office of Educational Opportunity and Ethnic Affairs.
"Many of these students are first-generation college students, so we celebrate their achievements with their friends and families at a special ceremony."
