The San Diego State University Enviro-Business Society, e3, will host this year's Earth Week featuring events and activities about sustainability, tips for going green and local clean-ups.
Monday, April 22
- Meatless Monday, 12-1:30 p.m. Campanile Walkway by the flag pole
A deeper look into the meat industry — while enjoying free vegetarian snacks prepared by SDSU’s Chef Dave.
Tuesday, April 23
- Enviro-Business Fair, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. North Campanile Walkway and North Love Library Walk
SDSU’s green networking event. Network with companies in the emerging green market and find out how businesses are incorporating social responsibility into their business models. There will be free samples and products for sale.
Wednesday, April 24
- Green Lunch Bag Series, 12-2 p.m, Scripps Cottage
A screening of the documentary "Tapped," followed by an open forum discussion on water issues and healthier and friendlier alternatives on campus. Free food provided by Cheba Hut.
- Upcycling Workshops, 10 am-4 p.m., North Campanile Walkway
Learn how to upcycle old things and make them new again. Take-home projects that you can build yourself.
Thursday, April 25
- Farmers Market, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Campanile Walkway
Enjoy local and organic food options, soak in the sun, listen to live music and participate in a raffle. To earn raffle tickets, get caught by an e3er “Green Police” doing something sustainable: riding your bike to class, recycling, using a reusable bottles and attending e3 events.
- Random Acts of Kindness scavenger hunt
Teams of 3-5 People will be given a list of 40 Acts of Kindness to complete throughout the day. Winning teams will receive SOLO Eyewear prize packs.
Friday, April 26
- Eco-Action Center, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., North Campanile Walkway (all week)
Learn about sustainability at SDSU and what more can be done. How to actively participate in issues on campus and locally. Learn about growing green businesses.
Saturday, April 27
- College Area Street Clean Up, 9 a.m.-12 p.m., Check in at South end of Campanile Walkway
Partner with thousands of San Diegans in this year’s annual Creek to Bay Clean Up! Help rid the streets of trash and debris in the College Area. Food will be provided.
The Enviro-Business Society (e3) is a non-profit environmental advocacy group at San Diego State University that strives to empower students to make a positive environmental impact on campus, in the community, and in the business world through the principles of Ecology, Ethics and Economics (e3).
The group offers students of all majors a unique and beneficial way to enact real change through special projects and events. Some accomplishments e3 has achieved include: doubling the recycling bins, implementing the bike lane, banning Styrofoam and trans-fat in all SDSU dining operations, offering a Farmers' Market on campus and hosting the annual Earth Week.
