Commencement served as the highlight of last month.

May is always a fantastic month at San Diego State University. Each year, Commencement ceremonies are hosted during this month, honoring and celebrating the hard work and dedication of thousands of Aztecs.

In addition to Commencement festivities, throughout the month of May campus was alive with research activity, student involvement and school spirit.

#SDSUGrad

Commencement weekend took place from May 12 through 15. This year, around 9,900 Aztecs graduated from SDSU.  The graduating class was more diverse, determined and decorated than any in its 119-year history. A special award was also given to an outstanding student at the College of Engineering ceremony.

South Campus Plaza Welcomes New Tenant

In early May, SDSU announced South Campus Plaza's first restaurant tenant, Eureka!, which is expected to open in spring 2017. Eureka! specializes in American classics with a modern twist with its diverse selection of signature appetizers, all natural, Angus chuck burgers, innovative salads, hand-crafted sandwiches, delectable desserts and a selection of craft beers and American-made spirits.

Could Flies Help Us Understand Brain Injuries?

A new study by SDSU scientists finds that fruit flies could be a model organism for learning the genetic pathways that affect human brain injuries and recovery.

LGBT-Friendly University

SDSU was ranked among the top 50 universities for LGBT students by College Choice, ranking 31 in the country. The rankings are based on campus commitment to providing resources to students, staff and faculty and the availability of tools that encourage education, support, safety and inclusion campus wide.

Homecoming 2016

It's never too early to start getting into the Homecoming spirit! The SDSU football team will host to Hawai‘i on Nov. 5 in its annual Homecoming Game at Qualcomm Stadium.
