Every year, thousands of community members march down the streets of downtown San Diego with one goal: to honor the memory of Martin Luther King Jr. On Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, the San Diego State University community, as an essential part of the San Diego region, will celebrate one of the most prominent civil rights leaders by participating in the Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Parade.

SDSU President Elliot Hirshman, Provost and Senior Vice President Chukuka S. Enwemeka and Vice President of Student Affairs Eric Rivera invite students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families to join the SDSU delegation in the parade.

The SDSU delegation will meet outside of the SDSU Transit Center between 12-1 p.m. to ride the trolley to the parade, which will begin at 2 p.m. on the Embarcadero. Participants are encouraged to wear red and black to show their SDSU spirit.
