Discussing San Diego's Economic Outlook

SDSU’s Fowler College of Business is bringing together local business leaders to discuss the region’s 2017 economic outlook.

San Diego State University is partnering with local business leaders to provide insights into the factors influencing the economy this year.

Panelists at the SDSU Business Forum: Economic Outlook 2017 will discuss external factors affecting San Diego businesses; political and policy factors and the implications for San Diego’s economy; possible risk factors; and effective strategies for growth and success in 2017.

“This year’s Economic Outlook event has an outstanding group of panelists  who are sure to provide an interesting discussion and valuable insights for the San Diego region as well as the nation,” said George Belch, interim dean of the Fowler College of Business. “The Business Forum events are held several times a year and are an excellent way for the Fowler College of Business to engage with the San Diego business community.”

The event will feature a networking reception, panel discussion and Q&A session.

Panelists include:

Mark Cafferty, president and CEO of the San Diego Regional Economic Development Council
Sarah Watt-House, vice president and economist of Wells Fargo Securities, LLC
Ray Major, chief economist of the San Diego Association of Governments

The event will run from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, in the Americana Room at the Farmer & The Seahorse in La Jolla. Tickets are $45 in advance and $55 at the door.
