San Diego State University and Kaiser Permanente have teamed together to put on the Kaiser Permanente Aztec for Life 5K on Sunday, Aug. 27, at Qualcomm Stadium.

"The Aztec for Life 5K is a great way for all San Diegans to get out, get active and be healthy,” said Jane Finley, senior vice president and area manager for Kaiser Permanente San Diego. “The Aztec for Life 5K brings together two organizations committed to building a healthy San Diego community, and Kaiser Permanente is proud to partner with San Diego State University on this great event.”

The 5K will commence at 7:30 a.m. and will be followed by a half-mile kids fun run at 9:15 a.m. Both races finish on the 50-yard line of Qualcomm Stadium. An awards ceremony will conclude the event at 9:30 a.m.

Participants will also be able to enjoy the Kaiser Permanente Health Expo from 7:30-10:30 a.m. on the Qualcomm Stadium concourse.

General admission registration starts at $35 for the 5K and $15 for the kids fun run. The event is part of SDSU’s Welcome Week. Students who are currently enrolled can participate for $15. Additionally, all participants will receive an SDSU-branded t-shirt and a finisher’s medal.

Proceeds from the Aztec for Life 5k will be donated to the Aztec Club, the primary fundraising arm of the SDSU Athletic Department.
