With the start of the fall semester right around the corner, San Diego State University welcomed nearly 5,000 incoming freshmen and their families to campus for New Student and Parent Orientation. During July, SDSU was also recognized with several prestigious honors, and the football team was picked to win the West Division of the Mountain West Conference for the third consecutive season.

$134 Million in Research Grants and Contracts for SDSU

SDSU faculty secured $134.3 million in research funding during fiscal 2016-17. The funding provides resources for faculty and student research, department projects and other university initiatives.

Quality, Affordability and Access

Money magazine ranked SDSU one of the nation's top universities for educational quality, affordability and graduate earnings.

A Muscular Legacy

SDSU biologist Sanford Bernstein was recently given a prestigious award by the National Institute of Health recognizing his research into muscle proteins.  

Sports MBA Recognized as Top Program

SportsBusiness International ranked SDSU’s Sports Master of Business Administration program No. 4 in the world on its list of graduate-level sports programs.

SDSU Picked to Win MW West Division

The SDSU football team was picked to win the West Division of the Mountain West Conference for the third consecutive season. The Aztecs received all 28 first-place votes in the 2017 preseason poll.
