SDSU Football Adds Seven to Signing Class

A total of 24 student-athletes will join the Aztecs for the 2018 season.

San Diego State University head football coach Rocky Long announced the signing of seven additional players to National Letters of Intent or Offers of Aid. Including the 17 that signed during the first-ever early signing period from Dec. 20-22, a total of 24 athletes will join the Aztecs for the 2018 season.

SDSU's signing class now includes 11 on offense, 11 on defense, one athlete and one kicker/punter. Out of the 24-member class, 14 are from California, three from Nevada, two each from New Mexico and Texas, and one apiece from Arizona, Hawaii and Canada. A total of 21 are high schoolers and the other three are college transfers.

The seven new additions to the class include:
  • RB Zidane Thomas (Peoria, Ariz./Centennial HS)
  • WR Kobe Smith (Compton, Calif./Junipero Serra HS)
  • OL Alama Uluave (Laie, Hawaii/Punahou HS)
  • DL Jalil Lecky (Antioch, Calif./Heritage HS/College of San Mateo)
  • DL Joah Robinett (San Diego/San Marcos HS/Oregon State)
  • DB Luqman Barcoo (Chula Vista, Calif./Castle Park HS/Grossmont College)
  • ATH Denaylan Fuimaono (Long Beach, Calif./Carson HS)
SDSU closed out 2017 with a 10-3 record, its school-record third consecutive year with at least 10 victories. The Aztecs are scheduled to return seven starters on offense and seven on defense, along with its kicker and punter. SDSU kicks off the 2018 campaign Aug. 31 at Stanford.
