About Darwin
Darwin was a British naturalist who was renowned for his theories of evolution and natural selection. He was born 200 years ago on Feb. 12, 1809. Fifty years later, on Nov. 24, 1859, Darwin published "On the Origin of Species."
SDSU joins universities and organizations around the world in marking this special occasion and celebrating Darwin's important achievements. All of the events are free and open to the public and will explore the impact of Darwin's work on contemporary thought and culture.
