Entry Level Staff Planner

Tectonic is currently seeking an Entry Level Staff Planner to provide permitting and zoning services on telecommunication projects within the Walnut Creek, CA area. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or a related field from a college located in California and 0-2 years of experience. The qualified candidate will also possess outstanding interpersonal skills, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle are required for this position; candidates must also be able to pass a criminal background and driver record check.

Planning Assistant
San Diego Association of Governments

Salary Level: $15 to $17 per hour

These are just some of the key project areas for staff working in the Land Use and Transportation Planning Department. The individual selected for this position will have an opportunity to work in similar areas while also gaining exposure to many other aspects of regional and transportation planning.

The open access analytical science group is looking for a bright and motivated sophomore student, from a local four-year university, to join the team in supporting medicinal chemistry projects at Pfizer La Jolla. The successful candidate will be given initial training and is expected to apply his or her scientific knowledge in the real world setting, thus to continuously learn new skills while doing required work.

Enterprise Technology Services Student Assistant
San Diego State University/Telecom and Network Services

Salary Level: $8.50 - $9.50 per hour

Telecommunications and Network Services (TNS) is a campus resource providing voice and data services to the university. Voice Services operates and maintains our telephone system, including the Private Branch Exchange (PBX), and handles all work orders and trouble calls. Network Services manages a robust data communications network including redundant high-speed Internet connectivity for faculty, staff, and students. We provide network resources such as campus-wide wireless access throughout the university, in addition to Voice and Network support.

Under the general supervision of the Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) Business Lead, the incumbent supports all areas of ETS as assigned. The student helps create and process travel documents, run errands, does filing and simple projects, maintains storerooms and conference rooms (schedule included) and any other tasks assigned. This position supports the Information Technology Security Office staff and management particularly with incident reporting, security training and other duties when required. The incumbent works with the Sr. Budget Tech regarding Student Assistant hiring, termination, attendance, salary processes and other duties when required.

Accounting / Engineering Controls

Salary Level: $9 - $12 per hour

Assist and Support Organization with system development of Quick Books Accounting System and other Software Packages including Microsoft Suite and Microsoft Schedule, Primavera P6 to support Cradle to Grave of Design Build Construction Projects including Heavy Civil, Waterfront, Vertical Construction, as well as Special Systems. Support Project Management and Supervision with preparation of Presentations, Estimates, Project Scheduling and Tracking, Resource Allocation, and other Project Documentation such as Submittals, Request for Information, Change Order Request, and Progress Payments.

Social Media & Marketing Student Assistant

Salary Level: $10 per hour

  1. Calendar and communicate messages on Social Media channels (FB, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) that communicate Career Services role to the University and community. Focus on social media messages, timeline and strategy. As needed, provide support using software such as Excel and online systems. Write and post for the Career Services blog, including interviews with employers, alums and students.

  2. Assist with Career Services outreach including program marketing, supporting event planning and preparation, and post-event activities and reporting. 

  3. Support social media outreach with the purpose of gathering, analyzing and reporting on data. Typical data reporting and analysis would include use, frequency of use, and popular topics. 

  4. Other duties as assigned.
