One of SDSU's main divisions, University Relations and Development generates the external recognition, support and financial resources the university needs to carry out its mission and to achieve its aspirational goals.

Working with alumni, parents, donors and community, the units of University Relations and Development work together to broaden the resources available to the university to enhance academic quality and enrich the local and world community.

The SDSU Alumni Association reconnects and grows relationships with alumni. Marketing & Communications builds better understanding of the university among the campus community, the media, community leaders and elected officials. Development works closely with faculty, volunteers and donors to help meet college- and program-specific needs.

In addition, Mary Ruth Carleton, vice president of University Relations and Development, serves as CEO of The Campanile Foundation, the university's philanthropic foundation.

SDSU Month is an annual celebration in March of SDSU and its "Minds that Move the World."
