Build Support for Choices in Your Academic and Professional Network

We encourage you to discuss your choices with a Career Services counselor, major advisers, and peers in a major you are interested in. Discussing your choices with others is critical to helping you solidify and feel good about your choice.  


Model Opportunities

Opportunities to job shadow and do informational interviews are vital experiences for students in the exploration of possible careers. Completing a job shadow experience and an informational interview is a crucial component of your exploratory process.


To gain tips on how to secure a job shadow opportunity and how to conduct an informational interview, contact Career Services: 



Reflect and write down your interests, goals, hopes, life expectations. This exercise wil help you clarify your decisions, and will help you better understand where you are in the process of exploring or deciding on a major. Writing down what you want to accomplish will help you formulate and develop a solid plan to explore majors and careers.


Individualized Interpretation of Formal Assessment

Assessment tools are available with a referral from a career counselor. To get a referral, visit Career Services during their Fast 15 hours (M-W: 1:00 pm - 2:45 pm; Th & Fri: 10:00am - 11:45am) or ask a counselor during your appointment about the assessments offerred. Take the initiative and responsibility of being aware of current resources regarding job and career information.
