Requirements

Prospective pre-service teachers who are eligible to participate in this program agree to meet the following criteria: 

  1. desire to specialize as teachers of diverse ELL students in urban schools in California;
  2. willingness to pursue a Bilingual Emphasis teaching credential and an Education Specialist Mild/Moderate teaching credential (SpEd);
  3. possess baccalaureate degree, BA/ BS;
  4. meet CBEST, CSET, & Spanish proficiency requirements;
  5. GPA of 2.75 in last 60 semester (90 quarter) units attempted;
  6. meet RICA requirement, and g. commit to a 2 year program of studies.
