Gregorio Ponce

Background
Gregorio is a native of Imperial Valley and has worked in higher
education ( San Diego State University--Imperial Valley Campus and
Imperial Valley College) in the County for the last 15 years. His work
has focused either on the teaching of mathematics or the professional
development of teachers of mathematics. Outside of his work, Gregorio
dedicates his time to his family.
On October 1, 2015, Gregorio was appointed as Interim Dean for SDSU's Imperial Valley Campus. He will serve for the 2015-2016 academic year or a until a new Dean is appointed.
On March 7, 2017, Gregorio was appointed to the position of Dean of SDSU's Imperial Valley Campus.
Research Interests
Gregorio's research interests include student mathematical thinking
and its implications for changing teacher classroom instructional
practices, particularly as it applies to
English language learner.
