Why Major in Liberal Studies at SDSU?

Liberal Studies, a program of the College of Education, is one of the largest majors at SDSU. In addition, our program has one of the highest graduation rates at SDSU.

What Can I Do with a Liberal Studies Major?

An undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies provides a rich academic foundation for meeting a wide range of future goals, including teaching in K-8 classrooms, with options in areas like special and bilingual education, and the choice to focus in literacy, mathematics, or science.

A Liberal Studies degree can also set you on a path toward a variety of other professions within the field of education, such as school administrator, reading specialist, high school teacher or instructional designer. You'll find a wealth of other opportunities available as well, particularly if you choose to pursue graduate studies after completing your degree.
