NAVAIR / SDSU Partnership on Advanced Aircraft Research

From left to right Dr. Venkataraman, Mr. Richard Ayala (NAVAIR), Dr. German, and Dr. DemasiThe Aerospace Engineering Department at SDSU has been actively pursuing opportunities to collaborate with Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) on research applied to aircraft airworthiness and sustainment. NAVAIR North Island was recently designated a National Research Laboratory and as result is reaching out to become involved in research opportunities with partners such as SDSU.

On March 23, 2011 Drs. Satchi Venkataraman, Luciano Demasi, and Randall German were invited to a VIP tour of the Fleet Readiness Center Southwest, NAVAIR, North Island. During the tour they met with a group of senior technical managers who lead the materials and structures work at NAVAIR to discuss areas of research collaboration and student training.
