Fields will retire after 31 years of passion and dedication to SDSU.
Norma Fields will retire on June 31 after 31 years as a staff member at San Diego State University. Fields is also an alumna who graduated in 1975. She has many friends at SDSU and will be missed.
Fields and SDSU
In November 1980, Fields was hired in the University Collections office at SDSU. She started out as a collector, helping students meet their financial obligations to the university and collecting on past due accounts.
She was eventually hired as the manager of collections. Fields has been involved with loan regulation, automation of new systems and loan-related communications. She has done all of this with extraordinary grace and patience. Her leadership, knowledge and skills are some of her many exceptional assets.
Fields has many plans for retirement, including spending time with her husband Edward and her children and grandchildren, traveling, and pursuing her many hobbies.
Faculty and staff are invited to Norma’s retirement party to recognize her for her many years of service to SDSU and its students.
The event begins at 2:30 p.m., May 11, at the patio area outside of Student Services West Room, 2620.
