Extended Studies Opens House

Several certificate programs will host information sessions and giveaways.

SDSU’s College of Extended Studies will host several free open house events in January and February to showcase continuing education programs it offers for students who desire to never stop learning.

DigiMedia Meet Up
6 – 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 10

The latest trends from professionals in the field will be disclosed. Attendees will find out what’s new this spring for the Professional Certificate in Digital and Social Media program, from digital photography to helping better analyze search engine results.

Marketing & Media Career Panel
6 – 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 11

Attendees will hear from three guest industry speakers plus instructors in the Professional Certificate in Marketing and Media program. This event is a collaboration between SDSU’s College of Extended Studies and the San Diego Ad Club.

Meeting and Event Planning Meet Up
6 – 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 12

This Meet Up opportunity is for the Professional Certificate in Meeting and Event Planning program.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Kick-off
10 a.m. – noon, Saturday, Jan. 21

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute program is for individuals 50 years of age and better. Attendees will learn more about the program, listen as faculty members present short previews of their courses, mingle with new and returning Osher students, and visit the state-of-the-art SDSU Extended Studies Center where classes in the program take place.

Lean Enterprise Information Session
9 – 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 17

Each attendee will learn more about the Lean philosophy, which is a strategy for achieving significant improvement in performance through elimination of waste in the total business process. During the 13-week Professional Certificate in Lean Enterprise program, students will learn tools that include simulations, exercises, lectures, site tours, assignments, and a project.
