Story Update: A second budget strategies webcast is scheduled, 9–11 a.m. on Monday, June 11, in Adams Humanities, room 2108. Faculty and staff may also participate from their office, and advance registration is required.
The story below was pubished May 21.
The CSU’s System Budget Advisory Committee (SBAC) will host a live webcast on Wednesday, May 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. to seek input on the CSU budget. Members of the SDSU community are invited to view the webcast in Adams Humanities 2108.
The SBAC is a broadly representative system-wide advisory committee that counsels the Chancellor and his executive administrative staff on support budget issues. A focus of Wednesday’s meeting will be a list of possible cost reduction and revenue enhancement strategies recently presented to the Board of Trustees Committee on Finance.
Professor Bill Eadie, incoming chair of the SDSU Senate, will serve as SDSU’s on-site facilitator. Eadie will be available to submit questions/comments into a Q&A pod during the webcast (which is being video streamed one-way from the SBAC meeting). No camera or microphone will be present in AH 2108. A limited number of computer connections will be available for those people unable to attend. Closed captioning will be provided.
Questions also may be submitted in advance of the meeting. Those questions will be compiled and addressed during the meeting or included in a FAQ that will be posted after the meeting. A recording of the webcast also will be posted online afterward.
After the SBAC meeting, the Trustees’ Committee on Finance will meet to review the suggestions and to identify options that should be further explored and analyzed by the full Board.
More information on the webcast, including links to the cost reduction and revenue enhancement strategies, can be found at the CSU website.
