Jeanine Walker, who graduated from SDSU with a degree in management in '11, met Peter Salas, '09, in the Undergraduate Advising Center in August 2005.
She had some questions about her schedule, and Salas, a former U.S. Marine, was more than happy to help.
He liked her “big blue eyes” and she was drawn to his “big smile.” After a year of being “just friends," they fell in love.
The couple decided to tie the knot. With all the time they spent at SDSU sporting events, in class and at the Student Veteran’s Organization, where Peter served as president, it just made sense for them to have the wedding on the SDSU campus.
Tying the knot
They married in front of friends and family at the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center on the west side of campus. And just for a little added fun, Salas repelled down the outside back wall of the center before the ceremony.
Walker currently works as an assistant manager at an outdoor retail store, but Salas is not quite done with SDSU yet — he is in the process of finishing his master’s thesis in homeland security.
