Spring Emergency Drill Planned

A campus emergency drill will take place Wednesday, April 3.

Because of its unique nature, this year's spring emergency drill will take place over spring break, when fewer people are on campus. The drill is planned for 12:30 pm, on Wednesday, April 3 and includes a confined space emergency on Campanile Walk near Hepner Hall.

What to expect

A confined space drill, done in coordination with the City of San Diego Fire Department, practices what to do in the event someone gets stuck in a manhole or underground space. The Fire Department will bring multiple engines on campus.

The university will use the opportunity to test some of its communications tools, including also the urgent information website that is updated in the event of a campus emergency, Facebook and Twitter. The university information phone line, (866)-794-8832, will also be tested.
