About the symposium
The Student Research Symposium is a two-day event to recognize the outstanding scholarly accomplishments of SDSU students. The event, which is open to the public, provides an opportunity for students to showcase their research endeavors with the community.
Attendees can choose to listen to 10 minute presentations on a variety of topics grouped in themes ranging from evolutionary biology to social justice in the arts.
The symposium represents a chance for the community to see the high-level work that SDSU students and faculty are collaborating on. Presentations — oral or poster — are organized by academic disciplines with divisions for undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students. Ten presidential awards will be made to recognize outstanding achievement in original scholarship.
Graduate and undergraduate students will go on to represent SDSU at the CSU Student Research Competition in May 2014. Student presenters will have the opportunity to win other cash awards for recognition of excellence in different categories.
