ESPN will televise a men’s basketball game hosted at San Diego State University against Utah at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, which will result in an increase of traffic at SDSU.

Parking will be limited on campus, those attending the game and members of the SDSU community are encouraged to use public transportation to get to campus.

Tips for parking and traffic

Take the trolley: Park for free at any of the trolley stops throughout San Diego and ride directly to campus.  Trolley schedules, fares, maps and other information are available on the San Diego Commute website.

Beginning at 11 a.m. through tip-off, trains will depart Qualcomm Stadium toward SDSU every 7.5 minutes. Normal 15-minute service will operate over the rest of the Green Line. After the game, trains will depart every five to seven minutes toward Qualcomm Stadium with normal 15-minute service continuing over the rest of the Green Line.

More than 5,000 free parking spaces are available at Qualcomm Stadium.

Take the bus: Another ecofriendly option is riding the bus. Bus schedules, fares, maps and other information are available on the Metropolitan Transit Center website.

Ride a bike: Students who live close enough can get to class by bike. There are bike racks dispersed across campus to park and lock a bike at.

Ticket holder parking

Parking in PS 4 and PS 5 will be for season parking permit holders only.

All other patrons will have the following options:

  • Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis in C and D Lots for $10 per vehicle (two shuttle buses will be available to pick up/drop off patrons to/from Viejas Arena)
  • Park at Qualcomm for free and take the trolley to SDSU for $5 round trip (Compass Card required)
  • ADA parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in K Lot, M Lot and PS 4.  Only those with a season parking pass will be permitted in PS 5

Should you choose to park at SDSU, space will be limited and you risk being turned away. It is strongly recommended that attendees take public transportation.
