Here are some of SDSU’s top NewsCenter stories from the past month.

September was a busy month at San Diego State University as the university was ranked among the top universities in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, the football team entered the Associated Press Top 25 poll and a celebration of SDSU’s 120 years of devotion to research and commitment to the San Diego community began.


SDSU continues to rise on the U.S. News and World Report’s list of America’s Best Colleges. Since 2012, SDSU has moved up 25 spots among national universities.


SDSU unveiled a new landmark to recognize alumni Christopher “Kit” (’60) and Karen (’69) Sickels for their service and generosity to the university. A concrete and bronze medallion, six feet in diameter, marks the center of Sickels Plaza.


SDSU shines the spotlight on students and faculty who have exceeded expectations in scientific research and achievements during the university’s 120 years of existence. The university will highlight them throughout the remainder of the fall semester.


SDSU’s new institutional TV spot, “Would You Go?” captures the curiosity and exploration of learning at SDSU. The spot emphasizes the university’s ascent as a top national research institution. 


Continuing SDSU’s celebration of 120 years, the university highlights Aztec families who have supported SDSU’s mission for multiple generations.


The SDSU football team started its season 3-0 and entered the Associated Press poll at No. 22. The team has since risen to No. 19 following its 4-0 start.
