Fireside Charla, San Diego State University President Adela de la Torre’s podcast, shares the stories that comprise the greater SDSU community through casual conversations with diverse leaders and trailblazers, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community leaders.

The topics range from shared governance to augmented reality, from SDSU history to innovative classrooms and learning experiences that are preparing the global citizens, compassionate leaders, and ethical innovators who will impact their communities and the world.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) Network, about one in 59 children has been identified with autism spectrum disorder.

In the newest episode of Fireside Charla, President de la Torre sits down with two SDSU researchers who study autism from different perspectives: Inna Fishman, a psychology professor who studies autism at the neural biological perspective, and Jessica Suhrheinrich, an education professor who studies how we can create effective and supportive learning environments for children with autism.
