Registration has opened for San Diego State University’s summer session, with classes in chemistry, marketing, and aerospace engineering among many other high-demand courses newly added to the schedule.

More than 10,000 students enrolled in the 2020 and 2021 summer sessions, designed to help them earn credits that fulfill degree requirements and keep them on pace for graduation. Courses are offered for periods of four, six, eight and 13 weeks between May 24 and August 17.

After two summers of predominantly online classes, summer 2022 classes will be offered in online, in-person and hybrid modalities.

New courses include Business Writing and Rhetoric (RWS 290), required for business majors; General Chemistry (CHEM 201), a sciences requirement; and Introduction to Physiological Psychology (PSY 260), required for psychology majors.

Three new upper-division courses for summer are Fluid Mechanics Laboratory (AE 341), Management Internship (MGT 401), and the Senior Seminar in Computer Science (CS 490).

Incoming first-year students can get a head start on college-level work by taking introductory classes in mathematics, writing and other disciplines. Incoming transfer students are also eligible to enroll in summer courses to complete remaining prerequisites and begin classes in their majors.

Several forms of financial aid are available, including summer Pell grants. Additionally, a new grant from the CSU system will allow many eligible students to receive Cal grants and Middle-Class Scholarships as additional financial aid.

Registration is through the SDSU WebPortal. Additional information, including summer session dates and links to class schedules, fees, eligibility requirements for financial aid, and summer housing can be found on the Summer Session website.
