Bonnie Anderson Retiring
Anderson has worked at SDSU for more than 23 years.
Anderson is currently the assistant dean for the Division of Undergraduate Studies.
Well known and much admired in the SDSU community, Bonnie Anderson is retiring after more than 23 years of service to the university.
Join Anderson for refreshments Thursday, Aug. 25, from 4:30–6 pm at SDSU’s
Faculty-Staff Club to congratulate her.
About AndersonBorn in Anaheim, Calif., Anderson was among the first baby boomers.
She attended Mills College and CSU Fullerton before obtaining her doctorate in American theater from UC Santa Barbara.
Anderson was then hired as the Santa Barbara city arts coordinator, wherein she participated in development of the local fine arts scene, via numerous boards and commissions.
In 1988, Anderson was hired by the SDSU’s
Theatre Department and shortly thereafter became the faculty advisor for SDSU's
Liberal Studies program. In 1992, SDSU’s
Division of Undergraduate Studies tapped her to become its assistant dean — a position she holds to this day.
An avid reader and scholar of 19th Century American Melodrama, Anderson is a fan of Mozart, Thorton Wilder, the printed page and the arts in general. She frequents many San Diego restaurants, boutiques, museums, galleries and theaters — a welcome respite from her hard work at SDSU.
