Borrego Desert Escape

Fliers have been mailed for the annual Borrego Desert Escape at Palm Canyon Resort, March 20-24. Both RVs and hotel guests need to make reservations through the hotel.

Last year, about 45 members and guests attended. In addition to all of the fun things to do in Borrego Springs, the group meets each night for happy hour and hors d’oeuvres, followed by dinner, then music, stories, jokes, bingo and/or a campfire in the complimentary RV site. With all of the recent rain, the flowers should be gorgeous.

PostScript newsletter

The next PostScript newsletter deadline is March 10. Editor Ramon Ross, profesor emeritus in the College of Education, has chosen the theme of "fun" for the next issue, although any articles of interest to the membership are usually accepted.

Standing updates in every issue are provided by president Pat Koppman, senator Gordon Shackelford on news items from the Faculty Senate, and Tom Donahue with California State University Emeritus and Retired Faculty Association news about the happenings in Sacramento that are relevant to university faculty and staff retirees.  Ross also provides information about each current issue and the theme and deadline for the next issue.

Golf Duffers

The Golf Duffers group will play on their usual first Thursday date on March 3rd. Details can be obtained from Jack Stewart, professor emeritus in the Department of Chemistry.
