Naughton Receives Inaugural Outstanding Dean Award
Beta Alpha Psi, a national student organization, honored Naughton with the award.
Beta Alpha Psi, an honorary and service organization for accounting, finance and information systems students, named Gail Naughton, dean of the SDSU College of Business Administration, outstanding dean for 2011.
“I am incredibly grateful and privileged to have been honored with Beta Alpha Psi’s initial outstanding dean award,” said Naughton.
“I am so proud to be affiliated with this organization whose exceptional students have constantly strived to earn top accolades and have become some of our best brightest alumni.”
Award's first recipient
Naughton is the first recipient of the award that will be given annually to the dean who “has made a significant contribution in faculty support and/or financial support to helping achieve the goals and objectives of the chapter.”
The SDSU Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy Beta Alpha Psi chapter was founded in 1960 and is one of the oldest chapters and most recognized on record.

“Dr. Naughton was selected for the award based on her longstanding and enthusiastic support of Beta Alpha Psi and the students of the SDSU chapter.”
